OUTREACH
We are striving to provide further support to the families and communities of the children in our Home School.
WHERE WE WORK.
The children we support at CEDA Home School are all from different districts within the Busoga Region.
The 2016/17 Uganda National Household Survey data found that 74.8% of people in Busoga Sub-region were poor and insecure.
We hope that by educating these children through to adulthood, we will enable them to break the cycle of poverty in their family once and for all. However, these children still return home to their families in the holiday time and we want to ensure they are safe and well-cared for when they do so.
For this reason we've recently launched our Family Outreach programme. We are hoping to provide some extra support where necessary for the families we work with, whether that be taking younger siblings for medical treatments, providing capital for grandparents to start a business or making home improvements.
While working within these communities, we are also identifying children and families that would benefit from help with education in the future.
