Not
everyone was singing in the rain the night the Scottish Monsoon hit
Castlemilk but these three intrepid characters was happy. Umbrellas
at the ready, they welcomed more than 30 people to an information
session which had been scheduled for that evening.
Despite the exceptional
rain, plenty of local people were keen to find out about job prospects
and training possibilities connected to the building of Ardencraig
Care Home. The unique care home is being purpose built by Thistle
Healthcare Ltd to accommodate 60 people. They will be grouped in
units of 10 and each person will have their own en suite facilities.
Four groups who will be cared for at Ardencraig are frail elderly,
dementia sufferers, young chronic sick and individuals who have
been brain damaged.
Further information about
jobs and training opportunities at Ardencraig can be had from Aileen
Gordon or Joanne McGee at CEDA telephone 0141 634 1024.

Thom, Head of Faculty at Glenwood Campus of Langside College and
in charge of their social inclusion and community initiatives and
Tom Spence of CEDAs Learning and Employability team. They
all braved the downpour so that they could be seen to be singing
despite the rain!
