  Refresh

This is a personal training programme with an employability focus aimed at people who are prescribed methadone or who have previously been on methadone and who live in the South East of Glasgow.

The aims of the programme are to promote daily routine, raise confidence and self esteem and assist individuals in raising levels of physical fitness. There is also access to alternative therapies such as reiki classes, massage, and meditation.

In addition, there is a strong focus on developing individual core skills such as communication, problem solving, computing skills and team working. All clients receive 1 to 1 support, opportunity awareness sessions, cv writing assistance and interview preparation. The main aim is for individuals to gain access to voluntary work, further education and employment.
We will also link clients with other support agencies if required.

Refresh is funded by, New Opportunities Fund (Big Lottery)

STEPS to Excellence
STEPS is a course which encourages you to think about yourself and how to live your life . It helps you to understand why you think the way you do about yourself and your situation. It enables you to realise that life is full of opportunities and shows you how you can go after these opportunities with confidence.

STEPS will show you how you can improve and succeed in every area of your life :

Feel more confident and better about yourself

Get on well with other people

Cope with finding a job/interviews/studying/finding a course

Decide what you want out of life

The course is delivered in an informal environment and is fun as well as informative. The course consists of video units followed by a group discussion and activities to reinforce the information contained in each section. A facilitator guides the sessions to ensure that the programme is relevant to all participants and that everyone takes an active part.
