Liz Mallon in
her Action Team for Jobs role, introduced the Rev John Miller, the local
minister, who formally opened the event. He said that 20 years ago at the
Jobs Centre in Rutherglen he had been told generations to come would have
to be prepared for a life of little work and lots of leisure. ‘That’s
come true,’ he said. ‘And we still need help to train and re-train.
That’s what CEDA is all about.’ Behind them are some of the
stalls which were set up on the day in Castlemmilk Community Centre. |
