The Castlemilk Learning
Centre has been growing and developing throughout its first year
in its base at the Birgidale Complex. Now it's adding two evening
sessions to its opening hours. Both evenings are open
to anyone in the community who wants to drop in to use the facilities,
start a course, or just talk with someone about their options for
learning. Thursday evenings will
have a special focus over 4 week blocks. From Thursday 25th April
special help will be given with Using the Internet and E-mail. Resources The Castlemilk Learning
Centre exists to give everyone in the community access to the latest
in learning resources. It's not like school…
you can book in when it suits you, as often as you like, and learn
at your own pace. Computer Based Training Many of our courses use Computer Based Training (CBT) - this simply means that you sit in front of the computer and the course runs just for you, often using sounds and pictures as well as text. You don't need to be an expert on the computer, many of the learners had never used one before coming along, and there's always someone there to help if you need it. Accessible We want the facilities
of the Castlemilk Learning Centre to be available to everyone in
the community. The Learning Centre is accessible by wheelchair and
we have technology to help if you have impaired vision or restricted
